Golden Light & Growing Love โ A Maternity Session at Aldergrove Regional Park
There is something incredibly powerful about photographing a couple in the quiet season before everything changes.
We met at Aldergrove Regional Park just as the evening light began to soften. The air felt calm, the tall grasses moved gently, and there was that golden glow that only happens right before sunset. It was one of those evenings that feels slower, almost intentional โ like the world knows something special is about to begin.
Maternity sessions are never just about the baby bump. They are about the pause. The in-between. The last chapter before a new story unfolds.
As they walked along the path together, you could feel the shift in their energy. There was laughter, but also stillness. Moments where he instinctively placed his hand on her belly. Moments where she closed her eyes and simply felt it all. Anticipation. Gratitude. A little bit of nervous excitement.
The golden fields at Aldergrove create the perfect setting for that kind of emotion. Open space. Warm tones. Nothing distracting. Just connection.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was when the sun dropped lower and wrapped them in light. They stood facing each other, foreheads touching, completely present. No posing felt forced. It was natural. Gentle. Honest.
Thatโs what I always hope to create during maternity sessions โ space to breathe, to slow down, and to truly feel this season. Because pregnancy is fleeting. It may feel long in the moment, but it passes quickly. These images become a reminder of strength, softness, and the love that already exists before baby even arrives.
Aldergrove Regional Park continues to be one of my favorite locations for maternity photography. The open fields, tree-lined paths, and golden sunset light create a timeless backdrop that lets emotion take center stage.
If youโre expecting and want to document this chapter in a way that feels natural and meaningful, I would love to plan something together.
Now booking maternity sessions in Aldergrove, Abbotsford, and across the Fraser Valley.
