ThThis cake smash and outdoor family session at the Vedder River in Chilliwack was such a beautiful combination — a sweet little cake smash to celebrate a first birthday, followed by an outdoor family session along the Vedder River in Chilliwack.

We started with the cake smash, and as always it was completely baby-led. White cake, white outfit, and all the curious little expressions that come with a one-year-old discovering cake for the very first time.

Then we headed outside and the light did not disappoint. The Vedder River in fall is one of those locations that just works — warm golden tones, open pathways, and gorgeous greenery that frames everything naturally.

The family portraits came together so effortlessly. Walking shots, parent moments, and that wobbly little walk between mum and dad that honestly made the whole session.
